Seeking to fill clients’ needs for quality research that includes analysis of results, Jan Rabinowitz founded January Consulting in 2009. Having served numerous clients, January Consulting continues to strive for excellence in marketing research management.

With nearly 30 years in the marketing research industry, Jan has a wealth of experience, from research design to report writing and strategic data analysis.  Most recently, Jan served for ten years in the marketing research department of one of the country’s largest business-to-business magazine publishing companies, which is now known as Penton Media. Here, Jan served in management roles, overseeing primary research projects for magazines that targeted a wide variety of industries, including government, security, construction, home medical equipment and public services.

While at Penton Media, Jan worked with outside clients, collaborated with internal staff members, and represented the company as a member of the Research Committee for American Business Media, an association that serves the business-to-business media industry. In fact, her strong, sought-after research skills earned her the 2006 American Society of Business Publication Editors Award of Excellence for Electrical Wholesaling’s 2005 Market Planning Guide.

Jan has supplier side as well as client side research experience. In addition to conducting employee and customer satisfaction studies for a research consulting firm that specialized in IT software and professional services companies , Jan has worked for such corporations as Atlantic Steel Company, Orkin Pest Control and Arby’s Franchise Association.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia followed by a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Georgia State University.

In addition to meeting the research needs of a variety of companies, Jan also has a strong bond with her community, serving in volunteer roles for several organizations. In 2010, Jan worked with the Atlanta affiliate of Community Consulting Teams, a non-profit group that helps non-profit and public sector organizations with challenges associated with strategic management. While serving on the Advisory Board for Emory-Udall Parkinson’s Disease Center Outreach, Jan also is greatly involved with the Well Spouse Association, a national non-profit organization that provides support for those caring for spouses and partners who are chronically ill.

Leading January Consulting, Jan brings a profound knowledge of the research industry and a keen sensibility of the necessary strategies that allow individual companies to effectively serve their clients.
